The 2016 Smart Grid Customer Education Symposium to Take Place on September 29, 2016 in Philadelphia

Event to Focus on the Evolving Utility-Customer Relationship and the Utility of the Future

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The sixth annual Smart Grid Customer Education Symposium is set to take place on September 29, 2016 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. The event is presented by SmartEnergy IP™ and hosted by PECO. Event registration begins at 8:00 a.m. Sessions will begin at 9:00 a.m.

The event focuses on customer education and engagement around smart grid deployments. Utilities from across the country will share best practices on working with their communities. Aside from the utilities that are attending, community stakeholders and leaders will share their perspectives on the best ways of engaging customers.

In a world where new technologies are transforming the utility-customer relationship, this year's event also takes on the topic of the "utility of the future" and will offer discussion on what that vision looks like and what types of stakeholders are involved in making those visions a reality.

"This is an exciting time to be designing customer engagement programs for utilities. The gloves are off in terms of innovation and creativity, as long as strong metrics are obtained for supporting such initiatives," said Juliet Shavit, President of SmartEnergy IP and the emcee for this year's event.

Keynoting the event will be Gladys M. Brown, Chairman of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
