Smart Home to be Key Feature at the 2016 Smart Grid Customer Education Symposium

The Symposium Will Take Place on September 29th in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — September 23rd, 2016 — SmartEnergy IP™, a division of SmartMark Communications, announced today that next week's Smart Grid Customer Education Symposium will feature an onsite interactive smart home exhibit. The Symposium is taking place on September 29, 2016 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, 1200 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA.

The Symposium brings together professionals, community leaders, regulators, and stakeholders in the energy and utility industries to discuss best practices for engaging customers in Smart Grid programs. The smart home will feature smart appliances and applications that stretch the imagination of services offered by the utility, as well as potential new goals for the next-generation customer experience.

The exhibit models a future energy lifestyle for consumers that encourages and utilizes sustainable living solutions. The smart home demonstrates the evolving utility-customer relationship, and offers users a customized, first-hand look at future applications. Users will be able to walk through and interact with various technologies incorporated into the kitchen, bedroom, living room, and dining area. Other features of the smart home include app-friendly appliances, interactive games and touchscreens, as well as a virtual reality station.

As a global leader in IoT innovation and smart energy, SmartEnergy IP is well-poised to answer these questions and bridge the gap between vision and reality.

"The IoT innovation wave comes at a critical moment in history for utilities," said Juliet Shavit, SmartEnergy IP's Founder and CEO. "As grid modernization has forced utilities to rethink their customer engagement strategies, new technology is opening the door for redefining the role of the utility inside the home and out."

Tours of the smart home will be available for credentialed media from 8:00-9:00am, 1:00-1:30pm, and 5:00-6:00pm. To schedule a tour or for more information, please contact Kristin Marcell at 215-504-4272.
